About this Episode
In this episode, Eric Chow is joined by The Most Reverent J. Michael Miller, CSB, and returning guest, Brett Powell. They discuss the Archbishop’s keynote at the Upper Room 2021 Conference, the Church’s relationship with society today, the co-responsibility of the laity and the clergy in the mission of the Church, and the role that Proclaim has in the Archdiocese of Vancouver.
Discussion Questions:
- What stood out to you the most from this episode?
- As the laity in the Church, how can we support the clergy in the mission of the Church? How can we take action in serving God alongside our priests and religious brothers and sisters?
- In your opinion, how has society impacted the Church? How has the Church impacted society? How can we, as faithful Catholics and disciples, proclaim the Good News today?
- Brett describes the Church seen as a “trusted lighthouse” before. But today, it seems that is no longer the case. How can the Church become a “trusted lighthouse” again?
- In his keynote for Upper Room, Archbishop Michael mentioned two virtues necessary for effective missionary disciples: hope and humility. How can you grow in those two virtues in your spiritual life today?
